A European wind energy developer recently placed an order for large wind turbine tower transition sections, requiring strict compliance with international welding, non-destructive testing, and dimensional accuracy standards. Our company provided cast and integrated machined transition components designed to connect the upper tower structure with the foundation interface under high cyclic wind loads. The project involved detailed review of technical drawings, material selection, casting process planning, welding procedure qualification, UT/MT inspection, and final machining verification. Through close communication with the customer’s engineering team, we adjusted the production sequence to meet the required delivery milestones while ensuring full traceability of materials and inspection records.

During production, the main challenge was controlling deformation and dimensional stability in extremely thick steel sections. We adopted optimized casting simulation, strict heat treatment, and multi-stage inspection to minimize internal stress and ensure uniform mechanical properties. After casting, each transition section underwent ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, hardness testing, and dimensional verification before final machining. Customer representatives also conducted on-site audits and witnessed key inspection steps, which further strengthened confidence in the quality of the delivered components.

The successful delivery of this project demonstrates our capability to supply large structural castings for international wind power projects. It also confirms that Chinese foundries can meet high-standard global requirements through process control, quality documentation, and engineering cooperation. Moving forward, we will continue to support overseas wind farm projects with reliable cast components and comprehensive after-sales technical service.
