An international mining equipment manufacturer ordered a batch of large steel castings for its crushing and grinding equipment, including machine frames, bearing housings, and customized support structures. The customer required high toughness, excellent dimensional stability, and strict compliance with ASTM material standards. Our company organized a dedicated project team to review drawings, optimize casting processes, and arrange heat treatment and inspection plans according to the delivery schedule. Through efficient production scheduling and strict quality control, we completed the batch order on time and passed the customer’s factory acceptance inspection.
The project’s key difficulty was ensuring internal quality and machining accuracy for heavy-weight castings. We used casting simulation to predict molten metal flow and solidification, reducing the risk of shrinkage and porosity. After casting, the parts underwent normalizing and tempering heat treatment, ultrasonic testing, hardness testing, and dimensional inspection. Some components also required finish machining to meet assembly tolerances. The customer praised the stable quality and professional documentation, which helped reduce their rework and assembly risks.
This project strengthened our cooperation with global mining equipment customers and proved our capability in supplying large, high-toughness steel castings. For foundries, entering the mining equipment supply chain requires not only production capacity but also engineering capability, quality documentation, and on-time delivery. We will continue to focus on heavy industrial castings and provide more stable component support for global mining and metallurgical equipment manufacturers.
